Updating our Beautiful Building
Our church building dates back to the 1400s, so it’s no great surprise that there comes a time when it needs some TLC. The wiring is old and failing in places, and the light fittings / bulbs are unsustainable, with replacements no longer available.
We are therefore having to act now to create safe, environmentally sustainable lighting throughout the church.
It is a major project and will cost us around £70k plus VAT.
community involvement
We’re not going to pretend that isn’t a lot of money, and so we’d love some community support to help us fund the work. We know that many of you have experienced some special moments at St John’s - a wedding, baptism, Christmas Celebration.
So if you view St John’s as ‘your church’ in any way, then we will be very grateful for any contribution you might be able to make. If you click the button below it will take you to a simple and quick way to give - just think of it as buying a light, a switch, a fitting, etc towards the project.
