Children and Youth

We have a whole range of activities and groups on Sunday's and during the week for all ages from 0-18.

Every first Sunday of the month at church is an all-age service, where we gather together as a church family to worship God as one.

Here are all the details you'll need for each age groups. If you have any questions do contact us.

Shine is packed full of a variety of activities designed to hold the attention of the under 5s, including music, singing, stories, games, craft and play.

Ages 5-11

ON SUNDAY'S

Sunday Club

Sunday Club aims to help our young people grow in their identity as children of God, encouraging them to discover what it means to take up Jesus’ offer of living life to the full. It includes worship, exploration of the bible, fun games and activities, prayer and play.

What goes on?

Early in the service the children move from the church to the nearby school that is used for Sunday Club. They spend time together as a large group and then part way through the morning, they divide down into smaller groups to focus on a theme for the week. Amidst all the action, there is usually some downtime with drinks and biscuits.

If you’re a newcomer, you are welcome to stay around in Sunday Club until your child feels at home in their group.

Friends and Heroes

Come and meet Macky and Portia as they face adventures in the ancient world, make new friends and become heroes!

When & Where

Sunday afternoons: 3.30-5.15pm
at St John’s Church

DATES FOR 2017

7th May, 11th June, 2nd July, 10th September, 8th October, 5th November, 3rd December

What goes on?

Using animated adventures, our new Friends and Heroes club brings you bible stories in a fresh way. Fun activities and reflection help connect the stories to the challenges faced by the main characters, Macky and Portia, and relate to real life too. Together we think about what it means to make good, wise and brave choices.

Our Friends and Heroes Club is a hands-on experience for all the family to join in together, rounded off with a picnic tea for all the children. All families with primary school age children are very welcome.

DURING THE WEEK

Cru 2

Tuesday's:  6:15 – 7:30pm (term-time)
Assembly Rooms, Gates Green Road, Coney Hall.
The group is affiliated to the national Urban Saints organisation.

What goes on?

Cru2 offers this age group a chance to get together and partake in a host of activities from the creative to the silly. There are one-offs, such as a pet evening, trips out, as well as the more regular games and crafts.

In the thick of the activity, we provide space for the young people to explore what the bible has to say about the issues in their lives, with opportunity for them to encourage one another and pray.
